Herbaria have been created since the 1500s and are known as a collection of preserved plant specimens used for scientific study or for personal use. This workshop will include collecting, pressing, mounting, and identifying plants placed into notebooks. After the workshop, the herbaria created from each person will be displayed as a book collection within the Emergence show, in a temporary public library.
Attendees will meet at the gallery and then go to a local forest preserve nearby. All herbaria will be completed at the gallery. The cost of the workshop will include a notebook and pencil. Please bring other writing materials, such as pens, markers, or other graphite pencils with you; plus anything else you may want to add to your personal herbarium. At the end of the exhibition, each herbarium will be returned to the owner.
Tickets include all materials. $17 members/ $20 non-members. Register here.
