  • Wave Pool 2940 Colerain Avenue Cincinnati, OH, 45225 United States (map)

Inform the path to the future of Wave Pool Gallery in Camp Washington and the neighborhood by creating a chalk mural across Rachel Street. Free snacks and beverages!

This program is part of a month-long gallery installation called 'Staycation'. Staycation is a social and community outreach effort with our neighbors in Camp Washington to set the stage for community conversation and visioning—with an island or poolside vibe.

The goal is to interact with residents and business owners—taking the proverbial temperature of our quickly changing community at a precarious time in our development—and centering the needs of our neighbors. The results of our open-ended surveys will help to inform Wave Pool’s ongoing strategic plan and include a collaborative community vision for the organization.

Breaking out of the gallery space, we will set up engagements at the neighborhood pool, laundromat, church camps, and in neighboring lots over the course of several weeks—facilitating opportunities for community feedback and participation.

Linnea Gartin is partnering with Wave Pool as a Graduate Student of Social Practice Art this June 2018. Her background is in photography, art history, curating, and arts administration. While she is a full-time graduate student at the University of Indianapolis, she also works in Cincinnati as a full-time Program Manager for ArtWorks.

Additionally, the project includes several other artist-created interventions in the gallery and off-site for community feedback and participation.
