Cincinnati’s Table “Cooking from Memory” with Christopher Leitch

  • The Annex Gallery 1310 Pendleton Street Cincinnati, OH, 45202 United States (map)

Join us for another Cincinnati’s Table community gathering which includes dinner paired up with an art experience featuring stories and pictures about families and food.

Chefs Andrew Huska of The Littlefield and Alessandro Urbisci at Branch explore their family histories of Lebanon, Poland and Italy through savory dishes accompanied by drawings and recipes.

These will be contributions to a chapbook being produced for each event participant, and to Wave Pool/The Welcome Project’s current exhibit, “Cooking from Memory.”

Welcome (M)Art visiting artist, Christopher Leitch's current installation at The Welcome Project is a subjective culture diary of Cincinnati foodways. The exhibit illuminates subtle and profound powers of food stories to relate personal and public history, culture, and identity.

Additionally, YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE! Christopher is sharing his Grandma Harley’s venerable Devil’s Food Cake recipe in the exhibit. **We’re seeking a few lucky attendees to volunteer their version of Leitch’s family legacy to serve as dessert alongside our Chefs’ creations.** If interested submit your name to cookingfrommemory2022@gmail.com, and if chosen (at random) Leitch will send you the recipe and offer tips from a lifetime of trying to match his grandmother’s tasty accomplishment. Deadline for submission: Monday, August 1st, by midnight.

~Funding for the 2022 Cincinnati's Table programs provided by the Johnson Foundation.
