In this class you will learn how to design and build a unique small table with wood of your choosing. You will be taught how to make a detailed design on paper and how to properly go about bringing that design into a reality. You will learn how to estimate board ft for your table and how and where to select quality lumber. You will learn all the stages of milling your lumber to use in your project with a planer and jointer. You will be instructed on how to make strong joints by hand and with power tools. How to properly join boards for table tops and a variety of techniques for making legs. Including how to use the lathe. There will be lessons throughout the course on how to properly sharpen tools such as chisels, gauges, and hand planes. You will also learn how to use carving tools, rasps, and files when needed for design elements or for shaping legs. You will also learn about proper techniques in hand planing, card scraping, and sanding. As well as many ways of finishing your piece with a finish of your choice. This will be an in-depth class and will cover a wide variety of techniques. Expect to learn a bunch and to have fun.

Advanced woodworking class participants will have access to the wood shop on staffed Saturday hours (12-5pm) during run of class.
Advanced woodworking class participants are required to have attended both intro and intermediate classes prior.
