Join us on Monday evenings this season as we explore introductory woodworking tools and techniques with specialist Scottie Bellissemo.

Gain confidence, use the right tools, and start building! This intro to woodworking class is in Wave Pool's wood shop with local woodworking specialist Scottie Bellissemo.

This class is designed for beginning woodworkers to get in the wood shop and learn how to safely operate a variety of power tools including the table saw, chop saw, band saw, drill press, planer, and joiner. The class will also go over some basic hand tool techniques and cover some basic joinery, shaping, sanding, and finishing procedures. Each participant will work to create a finished end grain cutting board by the end of the course. Class size is small (maximum of 4), with ample time and space for individualized lessons and attention. Wood shop membership is not included. In order to become a wood shop member participants must complete Intro and Intermediate classes or undergo a two hour certification class to prove experience.

Mondays (May 18 through July 13th. NO CLASS MAY 25 for MEMORIAL DAY), Intro to Woodworking, (6:30 - 9 PM) 8 weeks total. Participants should expect to spend $25 on materials outside of the class registration fee.
