Room For Two, Table For Ten

Cultural Triangle, 2012, installation view, image provided by artist

November 12th, 2022 - December 10th, 2022

OPENING November 12th 5 - 8 PM

Coming to Cincinnati from Vietnam, Ngoc Nguyen was Wave Pool’s fourth Welcome (M)Artist in residence. While here, she built an immersive installation experience for sharing stories of displacement and belonging through food.

Room For Two, Table For Ten was an invitation for sharing personal stories about displacement and belongings over meals in a constructed space. The viewer was engaged in different situations and contexts such as family gathering meals or Vietnamese style street food stalls. Currently living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, Ngoc Nguyen was born and grew up in Binh Duong province in Southern Vietnam. She completed her art studies in Sydney, Australia and has participated in exhibitions and international residency programs including in Australia, South Korea, Japan and Canada.

Welcome (M)Art is a new program that blurs the lines between art gallery, grocery, and dinner party; providing a unique opportunity for social discourse in Cincinnati.

Welcome (M)ART 2022 was generously funded by the Carol Ann and. Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation

The Welcome Project is located at 2936 Colerain Ave. and is open Wednesday – Saturday 11am - 6pm
