The Blue Tarp

November 9 - December 21, 2019

Blue tarps have been employed around the globe as a temporary aid to communities suffering.  Whether from environmental or financial disasters, blue tarps can cover a roof, act as a floor, and otherwise serve as an ostensible Band-Aid to the architecture of larger symptoms of systems collapse. These ubiquitous blue covers are made to conceal, yet they often signal damage without fixing the affecting predicament itself. This group show demonstrates how artists (often the first responders to these kinds of crises of humanity,) investigate this proverbial hidden landscape.  Participating artists include Lorena Molina, Migiwa Orimo, Edward Victor Sanchez, Stephen Smith, Cristina Victor, and Loraine Wible.
